As South Atlanta’s premiere center for Skin Health and Beauty, Newnan Dermatology and The Skin Spa are committed to skin cancer prevention. The American Academy of Dermatology opposes indoor tanning and this stance is supported by numerous studies demonstrating the correlation of UV exposure and skin cancer. In addition to the increased risk of skin cancer, UV exposure is known to cause premature aging of the skin. In order to promote healthy skin practices, while still allowing our patients to have that “just off the beach glow”, we are now offering airbrush tanning.
Say goodbye to harmful UV rays and "one size fits all" airbrush tanning. The Skin Spa at Newnan Dermatology is now offering custom airbrush tanning color matching to each client’s skin type, skin tone, hair color, and eye color. We have a dedicated airbrush tanning treatment room with studio lighting, allowing our experienced spray technician to have visual clarity to provide beautiful precise application.
Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) is a colorless sugar that is the active ingredient in most modern sunless tanning products. In a process called the “Maillard Reaction,” this colorless sugar interacts with proteins and amino acids in the outer layer of the skin to produce a golden brown color. DHA is not to be applied to the mucous membranes such as lips, female genitalia, opened eyes, or inhaled. Our airbrush tanning studio is equipped with an overspray mist removal system, comprised of 4 high-capacity extractor fans. The extractor fans pull excess solution mist away from our clients and into our overspray reduction filtration system.
The breakthrough micro-nutrient technology used in our sunless tanning solution delivers a potent blend of vitamins and antioxidants to boost the skin’s inherent “just off the beach glow.” The natural formula works with the skin creating a customized shade of color every time. Scented formulas are fragranced with essence of raspberry and almond extracts.
