Dr. Syed Omar Ali

 

Dr. Syed Omar Ali is the latest addition to our excellent core of Dermatologists at Newnan Dermatology.  A board certified fellow of the American Board of Dermatology, he is also a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatologists and a member of the American Society of Dermatologic Surgeons.  

Prior to joining Newnan Dermatology, Dr. Ali served in the US Army for 19 years.  A highly decorated soldier/physician, his exceptional service to our country includes two tours in Combat Zones, the last in 2008 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom as the Chief of the largest medical clinic in the deployed theater.

 

Dr. Ali received his Bachelor of Science from The United States Military Academy at West Point followed by his Doctorate in Medicine from The University of Chicago - Pritzker School of Medicine.  He then completed a residency in Dermatology at the nation’s largest Dermatology training program in San Antonio, Texas.  He is a well respected Dermatologist with numerous peer-reviewed publications and has served as a staff Dermatologist in several medical teaching facilities to include the Residency Programs at The Medical College of Georgia and the Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center where he served as Chief of Dermatology. 

 

His service in the Army allowed him to work closely with Doctors from multiple specialties to include plastic surgeons, oral-facial surgeons and others.  As such, his abilities encompass all aspects of general, surgical, and cosmetic Dermatology.  Additionally, he has an extensive background in the treatment of skin of color.

Dr. Ali lives in Columbia County, Georgia with his wife and 2 sons where they are actively involved in their church and the local community.
